Political Parties are created and operated by citizens in the game from within the Courthouse Location on the map. Political parties operate almost exactly like citizen created companies except political parties traverse all cities in the game so if you are in Dallas and create a political party then citizens in other cities such as New York and London can join your political party and participate in party politics along with you. The following are some how-to's for running a political party:

Joining A Political Party - To join a political party go to the Courthouse Location and click the "All Political Parties" tab. Here you will find a listing of all political parties in the game. Clicking the "Join" button will allow you to become an member of a political party. If you are already a member of a political party and choose to join for a new political party then the game will automatically change your political party to the new party when you click the "Join" button.

Leaving A Political Party - To leave a political party go to the Courthouse Location and click the "My Political Party" tab and find your name on the party member roster section and click the icon beside your member record. If you are seeking to join a new political party then the game will automatically change your political party to the new political party that you choose when you click the "Join" button. If you are the Party Chairman of your political party then you will be asked to hand your political party over to another citizen so that your party does not get deleted. If you choose not to hand your party over to another citizen then your party will be deleted and all of your party members will be removed from the political party.

Voting For Party Members - Citizens can vote for their own citizen or another member of a political party by going to the Courthouse Location and clicking the "View Political Party" tab and then finding their chosen candidate on the party's member roster list. You can vote for someone in your political party or outside of it as long as you are both citizens of the same city. Election cycles run for 30 days. At the end of the 30 day election cycle the citizens of each city with the most votes become mayor of that city. Mayors hold their office for a period of 30 days and during this time a new election cycle will run for another 30 days. Citizens may vote once every 30 days.

Creating A Political Party - To create your own political part go to the Courthouse Location and click the "Create Political Party" tab. Political parties do not cost anything to create so they can be created by anyone at anytime. If you are already a member of a political party you will need leave your party before you'll have the option to create your own.

Managing Party Members - If your political party has its new member join method set to "Approve" then any new members that join your political party will need to be approved by a party manger before they officially join your political party. If you are a Party Chairman or a Party Member Manager of your political party then you will have access to approve new party members. To approve a new party member go to the Courthouse Location and click the "My Political Party" tab and find the party member's name under your party's Member Roster section. Clicking the link on the party member's name will take you to their citizen profile screen. At the bottom of their citizen profile screen you will find a "Manage Citizen" link. Clicking that link will open a drop down form which will allow you to specify a custom member title, approve the employee and give them access rights within your political party.
